The "first step" is to evaluate the project, both in the design elements and your financial parameters (Pre-design Consultation). This is usually the greatest
investment doctors will make during their career. It warrants a thoughtful
analysis, planning and decision making process. We can provide excellent
advice to doctors in this area because of our years of experience
designing effective facilities and understanding the associated construction
costs for those facilities.
The sole purpose of a Pre-design Consultation is to avoid the typical
scenario of pursuing an apparently viable piece of property or lease
space only to discover after the ink is dry on the contract that it
wasn't going to work. Worse yet, to jump into the project anyway,
spend the dollars to have something designed that is "good enough"
and then find that they can't afford it or can't get it funded. That
is exactly why we know that the first step in a project is so critical.
Guessing is hazardous to the health of your practice and mistakes
will be with you for a long time. We can help you to be certain you
have done a careful and reasonable analysis before you rent space.
- Create a wish list of what you want to implement into your new
office.
- If you are currently in practice, decide how close your new office
should be to your present one.
- You have heard the words before "Location - Location - Location."
Avoid looking for property on the main street in town. It is probably
going to be expensive and things do change over the years.
- Analyse demographics, traffic flow, ease of parking along with
accessibility and visibility.
Remember patients don't decide to go to your office on impulse.
You are and will become a destination location.
